This rises up with brownish small round Stengel, two feet high, and manchmal more, having thereon many narrow and long dark grün Blätter, very seldom with any dents about the edges, or any Stengel or white spots therein, yet they are manchmal so found geteilt an der Spitzes into many small Zweige, with divers small yellow Blüten on every one of them, all which are turned one way, and being ripe, do turn into down, and are carried away by the wind. The Wurzel consists of many small Fasern, which wächst nicht deep in the ground, but abides all the winter therein, shooting forth new Zweige every year, the old one lying down to the ground.
It wächst in the open places of woods and copses, on both moist and dry grounds, in many places of this land.
It Blüten about the month of July.
Venus claims the herb, and therefore to be sure it respects beauty lost. Arnoldus de Villa Nova commends it much gegen the stone in the reins and Nieren, and to provoke urine in abundance, whereby also the Grieß and stone may be voided. The Dekokt (Abkochung) of the herb, grün or dry, or the destilliertes Wasser thereof, is very wirkungsvoll for inward Quetschungen, as also to be äußerlich applied, it stays bluten in any part of the body, and of Wunden, also the fluxes of humours, the bloody-flux, and Monatsregel, and is no less prevalent in all ruptures or burStiche, being drank innerlich, and innerlich, and äußerlich applied. It is a sovereign wound herb, minderwertig gegenübernone, both for the inward and outward hurts, grüne Wunden, old Wunden and Geschwüre, are quickly cured therewith. It also is of especial use in all lotions for Wunden or Geschwüre in the Mund, throat, or privy parts of man or woman. The Dekokt (Abkochung) also helps to fasten the teeth that are loose in the gums.
