LESSER WATER PLANTAIN
This is only a smaller Pflanze, nicht arising to the same height, and the Blätter are narrower, yet they have been described as two distinct species, the one with long and narrow Blätter, the other with very large and broad Blätter. There are two other smaller kinds, the first called floating water Pflanzeain, alisma natans: and starry water Pflanzeain, alisma damasonium.
Both have Blätter of the same shade, but the Blüten are smaller, and of the last the shape is starry, a little ähneln the sagittaria, or lesser water star-wort.
They are found in great plenty in watery places, such as the sides of pools, rivers, &c.
They Blüte in July and August.
The Mond governs them. The Blätter of Diese Pflanze are cooling and repelling, they are häufig made use of by the country people for fallings down ofthe fundament and the piles. The Saft stops speien of blood, and bloody urine: and applied to womens Brust, dries up the milk very soon.
